Mrs B’s philosophy
My fascination with desserts started as a child growing up in Brooklyn watching in great anticipation as my grandmother rolled out pie crust for her chocolate cream and lemon meringue pies. Easter was a bounty of her homemade Italian specialty cakes, wheat pie, ricotta cheese and her very own chocolate and vanilla cake which consisted of homemade chocolate and vanilla pudding (no boxed puddings in her kitchen) layered with rum soaked sponge cake, frosted with fresh whipped cream and lovingly decorated with maraschino cherries.
It was this fascination and love for desserts that led me to create Mrs B’s Specialty Cakes, a petite specialty bakery in which all cakes are made from scratch as well as fillings and frostings, using the very best ingredients. Every cake, whether a birthday cake, special occasion cake or wedding cake, is baked and decorated with care, never compromising on taste.
The designs which you will see as you browse through my website are simple and elegant. We no longer do fondant covered cakes, as taste is most important.
A beautiful wedding cake to reflect the theme of your wedding or special occasion, whether it be engagement, birthday, baptism, or whatever your special event may be, incorporating colors using flowers, greenery and or ribbons becomes an integral part of your special day and the focal point of your reception or party, will then transition to a delicious dessert. The focus of Mrs B’s cakes will always be “Your Cake Should Taste as Good as It Looks”.
